Elective Course: Sound Refuge — Material Experiments

Educational programme developed and led by CAMARAC at the Vallès School of Architecture (ETSAV–UPC) during the 2025–26 academic year.

Throughout the first half of 2026, the optional subject ‘Sound Refuge, Material Experimentation’ has transformed the ETSAV workshop into a laboratory for biomaterials. We have considered how cities should be rethought with an emphasis on acoustic health.

During the course, three groups of students have experimented with various materials from our local environment to prototype acoustic panels for different uses. Each group takes as its reference a different landscape of our territory: the forest, the mountain and the river. Hence establishing a dialogue between experimentation in matter and in music.

We thank the Technical School of Architecture of Vallès (ETSAV) for its support in promoting critical thinking and teaching committed to innovation.
